ClusMED Synthesis of data gathered from key Stakeholders

The report includes a synthesis of data, related to ICT regulation framework, gathered from key stakeholders in five different Mediterranean Countries including Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia. The report summarizes the outcome of the desk research and interviews conducted with the different national institutions and stakeholders to capture ICT regulations and challenges in each of these countries.

The H2020-ICT-2015 calls will be published in Mid October 2014 with an indicative budget of over 583 M Euros.

MED-Dialogue@NESSI Steering Committee!

On 1 July 2014 MED-Dialogue was presented to the NESSI ETP by ATC during a regular meeting of the Steering Committee. An extensive discussion followed on the particular opportunities and activities that could enable the collaboration between the two sides. One significant opportunity that has been identified is the contribution of MED-Dialogue partners to the white papers and Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda prepared by NESSI on a regular basis.

International Science and Technology Cooperation in the EU's Seventh Framework Programme

The European Commission has  published a report assessing the international cooperation in research and innovation in FP7, with a particular glance on the projects in the Specific Programme "Cooperation".An overall picture and assessment of international research and innovation (R&I) cooperation in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), with a focus on projects involving third countries in the thematic areas of the 'Cooperation' specific programme. 
 

New Arab strategy for science, technology and innovation

Arab states have approved a strategy to harness science, technology and innovation for development by improving science education, upgrading and reforming universities, building research capacity and encouraging international cooperation. The 22 Arab states include eight countries in Africa, six in the Arabian Gulf and eight in Asia.The strategy for science, technology and innovation, or STI, was adopted at the 14th Congress of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab World held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 11-13 March.

European Commission Report on European Added Value of EU Science, Technology and Innovation actions and EU-Member State Partnership in international cooperation

The European Commission has recently published a report on the question whether international Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) cooperation objectives and actions carried out at EU level will be more effective than if carried out at national or local level. The report also serves to analyse which actions are most effective in order to achieve the desired international STI cooperation objectives.
